Swift CVT Review: A First-Time Daily Commuter's Dream

I have to say, this bike has made biking as my daily commute possible. I was looking for an easy way to sneak more cardio into my routine without making my ride to work a dreaded chore—and the Swift CVT delivered!

Things I LOVE:

🚴 The CVT is a game-changer. No clunky gear shifts, no struggling to find the right cadence—just smooth, intuitive adjustments that make every ride effortless. Whether I’m tackling a hill or cruising on a flat stretch, I can always find the perfect setting.

🏙️ It’s taken the intimidation out of biking to work. I used to worry about hills, traffic, and just keeping up with traffic, but now? The hills don’t scare me anymore, and I can keep pace with cars in the city, which actually makes me feel safer. And on days when my legs are just done, I love knowing I can let the bike do the work and cruise home effortlessly. On the flip side, when I want to challenge myself, I can reduce the assistance and push myself to get a more intense workout.

🔧 Belt drive > chain drive. No more greasy, dirty chain maintenance—just a clean, quiet, and super low-maintenance ride. The motor and CVT are so quiet, I almost don’t even hear them, making for an incredibly smooth and peaceful ride.

🔋 The range is just right. I do wish I had a bit more range, but honestly, it’s sufficient for my needs. I get about 20 to 25 miles per charge on the max assist, which works perfectly for my daily city routes. Keep in mind, I'm riding on city streets with knobby tires, so that does take some of the range away, but it still meets my daily requirements.

💡 Fun Fact: I get approximately 350 miles per $1 of electricity used to charge the batteries, making this one of the most cost-efficient ways to commute! (Subnote: On a couple of range tests, I averaged 22.5 miles and used on average 800Wh to fully recharge the battery. The energy used included wasted energy due to charger inefficiency and AC-to-DC conversion losses.)

Overall, this bike has made commuting fun. It’s easy and has completely changed how I feel about daily riding. If you’re on the fence about getting a bike like this, the Swift CVT might just win you over. 🚲💨

Received my Swift CVT. Outstanding service at the Edmonton store, was very impressed. All my accessories were in order. Can’t wait to ride my new machine in the Spring “super excited”! Quality machine, can’t say enough about the bike! Will update in the Spring after riding for a couple of months if possible.

A few minor issues, but otherwise seems good so far

I ordered the front basket which it turns out doesn't fit with the included headlight and there's no alternative mounting option. There were also missing screws for mounting the front fender to the forks. Biktrix is sending the missing screws and an extension for the headlight and I'll have to figure something out for an alternative light mounting location.

The bike is nice to ride, makes decent electric power, and is pretty comfortable with the Thudbuster seat post option.
